Evocative Meditation event. Sunday, Nov 7th at 5 p.m.
This is definitely not your usual quiet mind meditation!
Evocative group meditation uses taped chants as background for you to go to a deeper meditative state and approach the Universal Source. Chants include Native American, Kirtan, a part of the path of Devotional Yoga, Hebrew Kirtan, Gregorian chant, and others. It is important to pay attention to images and other sensations that may arise during the meditation experience as it can be the Source communicating with you through images. At the end of the meditation period, there will be a brief period of time to share your experiences if you choose to. You are welcome to bring percussion instruments (hand drums, etc), to drum along with the chants. To register for this free event go to our Meetup page.

New DVD film release: Sadhana
I wanted to let everyone know about the release of a Canadian DVD film by Jean-Pierre Piché called Sadhana... the odyssey of a young Westerner who follows the call of his soul to India - the land of ancient and spiritual wisdom of the East. The trailer on the film website is beautiful.

Notice: Seeking a space In Baltimore Metro area
The Order is looking for space to hold regular interfaith meetings and teachings in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. We have very limited financial resources since we do not charge for any of our gatherings , but believe the Spirit will move someone or an organization in the area to offer space at no or limited cost. If you know of any space as described above, please email us at universalusmonks@aol.com

The Course in Miracles-A"Buddhist" approach to Christianity and other paths.
As I was studying my daily lesson from the Course this morning, I realized how the Course is in many ways, a Buddhist approach to Christianity. Although the Course makes it clear that it is appropriate for any path, it helps us see that we create the world we see internally and project it outward, and that this world is an illusion. The only true reality is the mind of God, the Universal Spirit. To read the daily lessons online click here.
