Spirituality and Psychotherapy group for Licensed Mental Health Professionals. Friday March 8th

Staying AWAKE! Sat March 9th at 7pm (RSVP below)

Staying AWAKE. A spiritual practice group for those who have "woken up from the dream" (our ego based dualistic perception of reality), are aware that our true reality is Pure Consciousness , and who wish to reaman in that awareness more consistently.

Whether we call it Spirit, God, Consciousness, Brahman, Universal Love, or no name at all; regardless of our spiritual path, we know our true identity.

Our ego-based dualistic mind frequently attempts to convince us we are seperate from Pure Consciousness.

Staying AWAKE practice helps us to, as A Course In Miracles, says, remove the blocks to the awareness of Love. This is "Practicing the Presence".

This practice is a heart practice not an intellectual process. Consciousness cannot be experienced intellectually because it is beyond our limited intellect.

Our practice uses meditation, mantra, kirtan chants, singing bowls, drumming, and the CD chant music of Krishna Das, Deva Premal, and others to open our hearts to Consciousness. Education on the use of these "spiritual tools" will be provided.

Join us (please note this is not "entertainment"or "just a fun and interesting thing to do", it is spiritual practice).

Monthly Non Dual Awareness study group
We meet on the 4th Sunday of the month at 5:30pm at the Universalus Community. Join us.

To further explore non -dual teachings both from the ancient paths of Advaita Vedanta and some Buddhist traditions, as well as modern non dual teachers including Eckart Tolle, Rupert Spira and others.

Presence with All That Arises with Pema Chödrön

When asked to give a pith instruction on what it would feel like to be enlightened, the Buddha said, “In the hearing there is merely the hearing. In the seeing there is merely the seeing. In the thinking there is merely the thinking. In the sensing there is merely the sensing.” We see, we hear, we think, we sense, we have feelings and emotions, but there doesn’t have to be this strong sense of, “I see. I hear. I feel. My emotions. My thoughts.” Meditation moves us in the direction of being able to simply see, simply hear, simply sense, simply think (thoughts passing through), simply feel (emotions coming and going).
We train in being present with whatever arises in our experience, whether it is pain or pleasure, something agreeable or disagreeable. This is our path. We need to be mature about the fact that the terrain in which we are waking up is rough as well as smooth, churned up as well as calm, sour as well as sweet.
The challenge is to be completely present with whatever comes up and see what you discover.
